May Meow Mixer – Lunch at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

Does it seem like we have a Kitty Event every week? That’s because we have! However, after this Meow Mixer, the schedule will be less packed. May 1st is International Female Ride Day so we had to get together for that!
What to bring: Cash for the 50/50 drawing ($5.00 for six tickets.) Also, several years ago, I passed out KKMC International Female Ride Day buttons. If you still have yours, be sure to wear it. For those who are new or those who can’t find your button, I’ll bring a supply. I’m including a picture so you know what you’re looking for.
What I will bring: Any Kitty Mall items I have ready to deliver. I’ll notify you in advance if I will be delivering items to you so you can bring payment if you haven’t already paid.
Fuzzy’s Tacos: We will be in their banquet room so we can be loud and proud! We will be ordering off the menu that day so nothing needs to be done in advance.
Extended Ride: For those who are able and want to, we will ride to Twister City to have a little ride time together.
Ride or Drive: Meow Mixers are always a ride or drive event. I understand people may be coming from something else or have to go somewhere after, so don’t let not being able to ride stop you from attending.
RSVP: Please RSVP by Thursday, April 29th.

April Meow Mixer – Brunch at the Fusion Restaurant

In case you hadn’t noticed, we’re kinda big. Not like as in a big deal, although we are definitely that, but big as in size. As is natural with a group of our size, people gravitate to others who have similar interests and ages. Even though COVID robbed us of our Christmas party last year (curse you COVID!), it gave us private gift exchanges which provided some of us an opportunity to get to know someone we hadn’t had a chance to chat with before. For Kathryn Langrehr, that sparked an idea. What if we had a Meow Mixer where Kitties were paired at tables with those who they most likely didn’t know well? What about that Janice? Janice thought it was brilliant! Kathryn and I selected the April Meow Mixer as the event to really Meow Mix it up. We pretty much know who hangs out with who, so after the RSVP deadline has passed, we will look at those who are attending and seat them at a table with those who they don’t normally spend time with. You could even come armed with a few conversation starters such as, where did you grow up, what do you do for fun besides ride a motorcycle, what’s your pet peeve, where do you work and what do you do, etc. I’m excited about this “get to know you” exercise and I think we all will benefit from learning more about our Sisters!
What to bring: Cash for the 50/50 drawing (six tickets for $5.00.)
What I will bring: Any Kitty Mall items that I have ready to deliver. I will notify you in advance if I will be delivering item(s) so you can bring your payment if you haven’t already paid.
Menu: Because we most likely will be a large group, the restaurant will provide a couple of set meal selections and will send those to me. You won’t need to choose your selection in advance, but you’ll know what you will have to choose from that day. I’ll do a separate post on the meal options when I receive them.
RSVP: Please RSVP by no later than end of day, Wednesday, April 21st.

April Road Trip and Tutu Ride – Zenda, KS

Meeting location: The QuikTrip at W. Kellogg and Maize Rd. – 1500 S. Maize Rd.
Meeting time: 10:00 am with kickstands up at 10:30 am.
Distance: 54 miles one way from the departure location.
Lunch: Lumber Yard Steakhouse
What you need to bring: Cash for the 50/50 drawing (six tickets for $5.00.) If you have orders that I will be delivering, I’ll contact you in advance so you are prepared to bring payment for that.
13 Day Forecast: partly sunny skies with a high of 71°.
What I will bring: Any orders from the Kitty Mall that are ready (patches, name badges, etc.) I’ve decided to no longer carry my stuffed to the brim tote bag with bandanas, Kitty Kaps, patches, decals and pins. If you need something, please place your order before April 16th.
Lead Rider(s): Nellie Taylor. Dawn Morse will also lead if we need to be split into two groups.
Sweep Riders: Kim Jones and Kathryn Langrehr.
Tutus: For those of you who are new to the Club, we have made it a tradition to ride in tutus on the first ride of the season. Of course, you are not obligated to do this, but it’s quite a sight to have a large group of women bikers riding on the highway and walking into a restaurant in biker gear AND colorful tutus. Because April can be cool and require chaps, we just wear our tutus over them. Most likely you don’t happen to have a tutu hanging in your closet, but not to worry! We have a plan to help you get one made in time for this ride. Dawn Morse has offered to hold a tutu-making workshop in her home this Sunday, April 11th. If you wish to participate in this, please contact her directly for the details. Her cell number is 316-641-4081.
RSVP: Please RSVP by no later than noon Friday, April 9th. I cannot stress enough the importance of RSVPing on time, whether you are going or not. Restaurants are still not operating at 100% capacity so they ABSOLUTELY HAVE to have an accurate headcount and they need it sooner than they used to. If you don’t indicate what you are doing by the deadline,  will have to assume you are not going. With a group as large as ours, I cannot follow up with individual Kitties to find out what you are doing. To then have Kitties RSVP past the deadline or show up unexpectedly the morning of the ride puts the restaurant and us in a difficult situation. The same is true for those who indicate they are going and then cancel at the last minute or don’t show up. It’s unfair to the restaurant who buys food for a certain number only to have that number be less when we arrive. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RSVP on time.
I’m going to start sending an email out every time an Event is posted on this page. Hopefully, this will also catch all those who are not regular Facebook checkers so they can RSVP on time.
I’ve contacted the restaurant in Zenda and gave them a preliminary headcount. Based on that, we may have to pre-order one of three meats. They are going to let me know about that tomorrow and if that’s the case, I’ll follow up with a separate post.

Celebration of Life for Denise Johnson

Kitties, I want to book a private room for this event, but I need to know how many are planning to attend so I know what size room to look for. Please RSVP by Saturday, March 20th, at noon. I know that’s a quick turnaround, but I want to be able to get a room reserved as soon as I can.
For those who I don’t hear from by the deadline, I’ll have to assume you aren’t going. Because private rooms have a maximum capacity (especially with COVID), showing up without me expecting you will not be allowed as the room may not be able to accommodate you and it wouldn’t be fair to those who RSVP’d to not be allowed in. So please, please RSVP and RSVP on time.
As soon as I have a location, I’ll update the Event.
Thank you and hope to see lots of Kitties!

Bike Blessing – Palm Sunday

Meeting location: Plaza West Shopping Center. This is on the southwest corner of Central and West St. There is a Taco Shop right on the corner and the mall is directly behind that. If you need gas, please fill up beforehand. Meeting at this location gives us plenty of space to gather and it’s only two right hand turns to get to the church, which will give us a better chance of staying together.
Meeting time: 11:15 with kickstands up at 11:45 sharp!
The Blessing: Pastor Clayton, Pastor Bob and Pastor Brandon will perform the blessings. They will bless your throttle hand, helmet, bike and anything else you want them to.
If you are unable to ride your bike for whatever reason, feel free to come in your car and you and your helmet can still be blessed.
Lunch: Spears Restaurant, 4323 W. Maple, where they have PIE!
The Bike Blessing is open to everyone so feel free to invite family and friends. The lunch is for Kitties only.
13 day forecast: partly sunny skies with a high of 59°. If this stays true, we will proceed. If it gets too much colder, we will probably reschedule. A lot can happen in 13 days.
Please RSVP by March 24th
