November is just around the corner and that means it’s time for one of the most popular Kitty events of the year. The Soup Potluck!
We have a new Hostess with the Mostest this year and that is Kathryn Langrehr! She will be hosting this event at her daughter’s house which is basically right next door. As a matter of fact, they share the same driveway, so when you pull into the drive, keep going until it dead ends at her house. Her daughter is out of town that weekend so it’s kinda like the proverbial “the parents are gone – let’s party!”
Bring a crock pot of your favorite soup or chili to share. We’ll have a great evening of tasting some very yummy recipes! Also, please bring your own beverage and for this event, beverages can be of the adult variety.
If a couple of Kitties would like to bring dessert instead of a crock pot of goodness, that would be great.
For those of you who would prefer to bring paper products instead of a cooked dish, that would be great! We need little tasting cups/bowls, plasticware (spoons and forks) and napkins. I’m going to ask Lori Gibbs where she got the tasting cups like we used last year, but I need to wait a few days. She is busy with her daughter’s post-wedding duties right now.
If you prefer to bring toppings, such as cheese, crackers, bread, etc., that would also be great. If your soup requires an unusual topping, you will need to bring that with you.
If you would like to take some leftovers home with you, bring your own plastic containers with lids. You can get them very cheaply at the dollar stores.
Kathryn will provide water, soup ladles and tongs.
Because we are going to Hutchinson this year, please try to carpool with others in the area in which you live. There is lots of parking at Daughter Sarah’s house, but there’s no need to all drive individually.
